childlike in advertising and design
of mine journalist Andrea Keller does in her article from NZZ 18.1.2006 regarding a science supplement of the New York Times, was shown in how the penchant for sweet and colorful, and the child pattern (large head, large eyes, round, soft shapes, were in proportion to the trunk and head short legs) extending from the film set up by the car industry. This brief article reminded me of the heated debate, in which we heated in the sixties and seventies of the last century about the "hidden persuaders."
your article interested me but also because of my "hobby": the reconstitution of disorganized discourse types.
The first, the child pattern is part of the behavioral Diskursart, the notes that have survived in our instinctive reaction patterns of our evolution. At the sight of an infant automatically adjust certain reflexes in us: we are attracted; guard and so on, love it, want to tweak it, protect, maintain. Science discovered in the last decades more and more such signals are genetically inherited and stimuli to which we respond immediately. They play a big role in flirting, having sex, in recognition and memory of people (faces) and so on. They talk to all of our senses. Although we For centuries tamper with Perfume, it surprised many, for example, that the sense of smell in all this a very important role (also present in baby scheme). If we pursue this discourse, we come to the conclusion: a section as an important part of our behavior is genetically inherited and are thus fixed predetermined responses to certain stimuli.
This conclusion leads us into a conflict with what we mean by reasonable action, meaning the action to take in our view and our opinion is the determining role. The question now is: Do we live in this conflict, it is insoluble, or can find a consensus?
to seek such an order, we need to open a further psychological discourse: on the conscious and unconscious action. To apply this discourse for consensus between reasonable and reflexgesteuertem behavior can be assumed that the unconscious plays in our daily activities a big role, but we in the sense of Freud and Jung and thereby realize our decisions may imply. There are still researchers who do not admit it. For them, the conflict there, yes, some even doubt the possibility of a specific act or reason to see this on a very small part of our daily lives restricted. We acknowledge, however, that without unconscious action in this world rightly did not come, but it is simultaneously important to become aware of in certain situations, unconscious, to solve the conflict as soon as we are such we innate reactions are conscious of certain stimuli, can we decide whether we have the reaction that trigger these stimuli directly with us, really want to implement or not. The feelings that trigger the child pattern or a distinct upward glance at me, I can not control. You wake up easily. Whether I live up to these sentiments, but like it or not, I can decide if I am aware of what is going on there with me.
Ueberall sehe ich Manipulatoren am Werk, auf die ich selbstverständlich reinfalle, because I am not an intellectual who sees through these games, but just a stupid consumer. They link together a scientific discourse now with the economic and, from that with the advertising, and this discourse in turn they link together with a worldview, namely that by reducing complexity and our world would be trivialized. Since this last debate is beyond the scope of the kinds of discourse of a blog, I will address under the heading godi + marti http://www.joeehde.ch under it and they - if all goes today - tomorrow and share online.
